Armistice 03:20
Goodbye, summertime. We lay our hearts on the line Meet me in our secret spot, yeah we can find what we forgot, And if we fall it won’t be far, yeah we can crawl back to my car And if I lie, well strike me blind, In summertime you’ll be mine. Toss the dice, snake eyes, in summer time you’ll be mine Yeah you’ll be mine The clouds crawl, the moon falls, the treaty holds, but we just stall. We’re just kids playing with flames, playing pretend, laying blame. We crawl inside where comfort lies, we climb a cloud where we can hide And if we fall, it’s cause we dive, this trembling truce keeps me alive. Climb the cloud before we kiss, before we kill this armistice Yeah, we will kill this. Toss the dice, don’t ask why. When morning comes, we’ll live our lives. For just one night we won’t cry, for just one night we’re alive. We’re alive. This is armistice. This is all.

Our words float like garbage down the street Our gazes touch, but they never really meet And we talked about things we could not know As we walked out, something in our hearts closed How long does it take to know somebody? Crying was easy. Kill off what you don’t love now, You don’t love now, You can’t love a thing But everything is gone now, Gone The wind blows and carries away the ashes Of the folks you know and the impression you leave in their minds. The charred remains of discarded emotions we find; Ephemeral charcoal, the carbon our hearts leave behind [repeat “how long etc.] The eye of the storm stares at me at night And your brothers and your sisters are scattered across the sky And your mother and your father, they are gone The eye of the storm fades away, and you realize you’re grown [repeat “how long”] God our lives get complicated, it’s all gone i said it’s all gone All the time you waste being jaded, it’s all gone i said it’s all gone And all the love you consummated, it’s all gone i said it’s all gone Should’ve never been born in the eye of the storm, but its all gone I said everything is gone now

I’ve seen you here before, in my room at night In a gold sky in a hot air balloon, You threw me down a kite. A kite made of wishes for feathers, to pull me up into the sky I was tired of counting stitches, tired of wishes too, but I climbed up into there with you. You said your favorite color was the blood our bodies hide We sang your favorite song, love, it was gold and every word a lie [pre-chorus] Are we still young? What have we killed to become These gilded creatures That we are? That we are. [chorus] You and I were singing the color of gold The notes are still ringing, will they ever fade? I don’t know. Darlin my dear, I can still hear them loud and clear. The day they fade we’ll be old. You and I were yelling, so hard I could barely hear The sound of the song over the screaming Wasted hot air blowing through our ears And the last night when we were sinking, I jumped out and landed on the moon. I remember every day watching you float away And I wonder if I jumped out too soon. [repeat pre-chorus and chorus] I never forgot your cold feet in the bedroom, Or the fire that comes from your lungs. Just look up when you shout and we’ll never fall out; It’s just hot air into our balloon.

Fault Lines 05:03
Spilling out my guts like month old road kill, Blood dries but memories are still Crawling out of places that give me chills But thinking about the past is dancing through a minefield, Dance, the thrill’s the danger’s real One wrong step and I’ll be spilling my guts out again. When our eyes meet ground shifts beneath my feet. Worlds collide inside fault lines, inside of fault Lines Now the seismic waves are uncovering the graves of a Feel I lost, I thought I lost that Feeling, I’m a child again, and nothing’s real… The world becomes alive inside those fault lines, it Melts and flows, and shines and glows. Then it goes away, and the landscape forever is changed. When our eyes meet ground shifts beneath my feet. Worlds collide inside fault lines, it’s gonna be Fine

Spent five years singing sad songs on a short wave station. The notes fall out of a nest like birds that can’t fly yet. I’ve written words with blood and fed a fire with my dreams. In time this heart will be bled dry. Well, I guess it’s funny how five years disappear; A comet that burned up in the atmosphere; The songs that I wrote for you that never reached your ears; Notes trapped in a radio that no one will ever Know. I blow a kiss to my lover through the wind, it flies around the world and in Ten years she might feel it again, or maybe not. We’ve buried so much time under the harvest sky To fertilize the next five years as they rot. Well, I guess it’s funny how five years pass on by; A flock of birds fly through the fading harvest light; A splinter in your insides, forgot and liquified; A song that I dreamed of, I wrote and forgot every Note. I have seen the steam that evaporates, and forms the clouds as they fly, Eclipsing all your sunlight that bleaches your bones white. And where, I wonder, under the harvest sky, Where do those birds go? If only I could Follow.

about

Gilded Creatures Memphis, Tennessee

O lurid, luminescent womb, burst forth
let the golden blood flow, as the froth obscures the lustful teeth of the hounds,
and crying children revel in the putrid lather; the half breed bastards, sired of rituals unspoken,
cursing God that the shrieks of such abominations
should poison even the ears of the damned. They are not human kind,
but feral animals painted as man.
